Lisbon label Sombra's sophomore release comes from Italian producer, DJ and label-founder Plukkk. Across five heavy cuts, the artist and remixers are bold in representing the label's dark, industrial techno with a contemporary vision.
The three original tracks are the perfect reflection of Plukkk's flair for warehouse techno and drone-inspired soundscapes. The first track, 'K012' showcasing his talent for utter dancefloor destruction while 'Sequence #41' shows delicate yet pungent ambient sensibility and lastly, the digital bonus track 'Hunting' brings forward a broken, distorted take on modern, pulsating rhythms. British producer Manni Dee steps in as the remixer for the opening track, bringing his reputed brand of sculpted, hypnotic techno, while Italian veteran Ness further refines Plukkk's second original by constructing a detail-oriented roller that is equal measures elegant and potent.
The five tracks are packed with energy, placing the listener in the centre of a ravaged rave scenario where speakers emanate enough tension to create a new era of devoted dancing.
With previous releases on Obscuur Recordings and his own imprint IMPETO, Plukkk delivers to keep the flame alive for the pounding, obscure rhythms of Portugal's founded Sombra.
